Description

Born on November 7th, 1909 in Berkeley, CA, Campbell Grant was one of the select scholarship winners at the renowned Santa Barbara School of the Arts in 1930. He recalls the people and programs at the school that made it a successful establishment for growing artists. After school he moved on to work for the Federal Arts Program and Disney, which reflect the depression era and growing movie business in the early 20thcentury. Campbell ended up back in the area in Carpinteria, and remained a strong presence I the community as a teacher, writer, and Chumash cave painting expert.
