Cecily Johns moved to Santa Barbara in 1985 after accepting a position as Associate Librarian at UCSB. After several years of getting to know the city, she decided to pursue her interests in historic preservation and began to volunteer with SBTHP.
After joining the Research Committee in 1997, she immediately put her background in library administration to good use through her work to catalog the Research Center’s collection of nearly 2,000 volumes. Her expertise has helped to make Santa Barbara history more accessible to all who seek it.
